Lose the overload and add a 4th leaf. Ride is amazing!

I just wanted to get rid of the axle wrap mainly. What leaf did you add? Like a spare out of another 63 pack?

Yeah. Between the bottom leaf and 2nd leaf. No more axle wrap at all.

Do you have any pictures? The third leaf has the spring clamps on them, I’m afraid that might hirt down flex unless you bend the clamps vertical? Did you shorten the added leaf? Honestly though, I’m pretty damn happy how it is now, but it’s easy to change and try something else. I have spare 63’s, rusty but I have them.

No pics. Not in town. I just spread the clamps apart and pulled the top 2 leaves out and put the extra leaf on top of the bottom leaf then added the others back in. Closed the clamps back and reintstalled on the truck.

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
Has anybody done this swap with a fabtech 6 inch lift installed or similar? I’m looking to increase my load capacity and possibly get rid of the blocks. My truck sits like 2 inches lower with my dirtbike in the bed. I know some extra ingenuity is going to have to take place with the 6 inch lift being installed. Just want to know if anybody has done it or if I’m flying blind. I already found some 4x4 chevy leafs on Craigslist for a steal.

Should work just fine with a 63" leaf pack made for your desired lift.

Stock chevys with overload net about 4”s of lift

Good to know, would an extended shackle flip make up for the needed 2 more inches?

You would need really long shackles to make up that difference. I’m thinking maybe an aftermarket AAL for the chevy spings, give a few extra inches. A whole aftermarket lift leaf pack would probably be expensive.

I think you’ll be very satisfied with the flex, ride, and load carrying abilities. Idk what shocks you could use, probably run 16” with ford shock towers no problem.

You need to start making shock hoops for the rear. Be able to tuck them in tight to the frame.

I’ll be making my shocks mount into the bed cage. Next bed rack I build I’ll be making a jig so I can take the bed off

I personally dont like the look of that block. I guess it comes down to this, if you are wanting more load carrying capacity and a level ride, some custom alcan leafs packs would be cheaper. If you want the load carrying capacity, great flex off road, and probably a better ride, then id do the 63’s.

Most of the time she is a pavement princess. My big thing is weight, with both motorcycles in the bed and the yxz on the trailer I’m damn near bottomed out.
