    I ended up doing this without step #4. I also lightly scrubbed with a sponge to get heavier stuff off. Next time around, I'll probably use the simple green as well.

    I use that Gunk stuff - before, let it soak and then some Gunk aerosol dressing. Comes out pretty good...

    I had this happen once, and it really sucked. I was at a car wash a few miles from the house and had to leave the truck there overnight. Fortunately, it dried up and started fine when I went back the next day. Still..........not something I want to ever replicate!!! But now my engine bay is really dusty and needs washing. I may try the simple green soak followed by light garden hose spray in my own driveway this time in case it won't start afterwards!
