How to convert 2020 Tacoma trd OR led headlights back to halogen

Hello everyone! This may sound like a dumb question, but is there a way to change my led headlights back to halogen? They came with the truck and I prefer the overall look of the stock ones more. Is there some kind of harness I can buy or how do I do it? Also my led headlights have only one wire that plugs in.

You can sell em for much more than standard OE assemblies go far. Just look for someone wanting to upgrade, and they’ll gladly hand you cash on top.
You’ll both need an adapter harness I believe.

 

What adapter harness do I need? I’ve researched and I can’t seem to find one. I’ve already looked into the selling them and that’s what I’m going to do. But I only have one plug and the halogens have like 4

 

There are no ready made harnesses because almost no one would want one. You'll either have to make your own or, if you're committed to a significant downgrade in your lights for the sake of "looks", maybe @Puppypunter would be willing to help you.

I'll sell you my OR halogens once I get the LEDs swapped, if you're interested. Halogens are OE with about 30,000 miles.

 

I have made a few for this reason. Most of it is pretty straight forward, like Caribe shows here:

The worst part is the grounds. The stock wiring only having the one ground spot means you need to ground to the body. So not terrible, just an added step. I brought the grounds together exactly like @caribe makaira shows, using the stock ground for the turn signal and then using 18g for the rest, tying them together into a 12g with a loop that can be used on the grounding body points by the headlights.

 

C'mon, I'm not THAT bad Now @daveeasa on the other hand wouldn't touch it for sure.

I can only really see two use cases for the downgrade- you want to use a (real, d2s based) HID retrofit, which may have the potential to outperform the OEM LED headlamps, or you live at high altitudes/northern latitudes and have to deal with extended winters, where the halogen headlamps are less likely to free over completely, unlike the significantly cooler running LED assemblies. A third option might be if you're older and have poorer eyesight. Qhile the LED lamps are significantly higher performing, older eyes don't work as well with blue wavelength heavy lightsources, so a downgrade in realworld perfprmance may have the potential to result in more effective vision at night - oncoming traffic notwithstanding.

Pick up some better fog lights. You'll hate the decreased light output of the stock halogens anyways
