I have a 2013 prerunner that is prewired for a backup camera. I bought this backup camera:
    http://a.co/iGa2lAb

But I didn't realize my tailgate handle was aftermarket (by previous owner) until after I opened her up and doesn't fit. I can't return the camera at this point. It has the single wire coming from the camera and the truck as the 4 pin black connector. Is there any way to strip the wire from the camera or cut off the 4 pin to make this work?

I did a search on the forums but I didn't see anything specifically for this. Sorry if I missed something. I'm not super savvy with wiring.

You just need +,- and video. Not sure what a 4th would be for.

So there are 5 wires from the camera.
    White
    Red
    Black
    Yellow
    Green

    And 4 from the truck.
    White
    Red
    Black
    Blue

I tried wiring R - R, W - W, Bk - Bk but wasn't sure what to do about the Blue. I tired both the Yellow and Green to the Blue and neither work. I read that the Toyota colors are not the normal red/black is power... so I don't know what to do.

Does anyone know which colors go to what?

Came across your post from almost 7 years ago. I am trying to do the same thing you wanted with 5 wires to 4 wires. Did you get it to work? If so, how did you do it? Thanks.
