Don't know why it's upside down, as it's downloading it is right side up. But you get the idea

    Haha my feelings exactly!!
    The curse of the '13

Why don't we at least have the option to see the startup screen anytime:
    5f7d6b84bc763e867e0cd3dcd509059a_6bae876a7e6128ed471099e58e865d09c83924de.jpg

    ....instead of this crap:
    8ac0c8d49c6fe26fb59295914d65221d_7fced7f7b64235af57097aef73a9972133cdd39c.jpg

I mean, the image is already in there, shouldn't it be possible to display that image, not just at startup?

Worked perfectly for my brand new 2015. The directions on how to do it was even in the owners manual.

So, I almost feel silly asking this as this seems to be the first and most important question... k

    What is the image size?

i used 640x480... or close to it,,i think only 2 of mine worked, so i had to make the 3rd pic a little smaller..also had to format stick to fat32 to work

Yeah, I hate that screen. It's completely worthless, and to turn it off you have to go like 3-deep in the menu. Every. Time.

I found to make that head unit tolerable I had to lower the screen brightness to almost zero. Still readable in the day, and not nearly as annoying at night.

native resolution i belive is 800x480 so its a bit off compared to wide screen sizes. i just left as is and never changed and it filled accordingly with bars on the side i may mess around with resolution of pics next so it fills exactly

This is making me insane. I am using FAT32 on my USB drive, file names are StartupImage and DisplayOffImage, three files in each folder, all JPEGs, all short file names. I've tried several pics, several sizes, and I keep getting a message that there are no files in the folders when I plug it into the truck. What am I doing wrong?

Try making the pictures less than 50 kb each. I had the exact same issue.

For my startup screen I used semoak's original (post #100 in this thread), upsized it to 1280 x 720 and added a few things, like the red TRD and added a gradient background and drop shadows. Looks pretty good. I used my pooch for the audio off screen.

    TacomaStartupImage-01.jpg WP_20150127_004.jpg WP_20150127_003.jpg

I don't have flash so the dash and HU aren't showing up but you get the idea. Nice little mod for 14 and up models! I know people in this thread have suggested 50K and below file size, but the TRD one above is 60K and the one of my dog is 315K  and they uploaded fine.
