I just picked up a TRD Pro, and want to get rid of the snorkel... I've heard there are "delete kits" but am struggling to find a link.

Is there any downside to removing it? Will it risk damaging the engine or anything? Any tips are very appreciated!

    Welcome to TW!

Snorkel delete Kit? You mean unbolting it, and replacing the fender with one that doesn't have a 4 inch hole in it, and adding the stock intake hose? There's not a "kit" for that, but it should be pretty straightforward.

Downside: Loss of Tactical Racing Dingus, Loss of "Expo Points"

Damage to engine: nope, it's just a fancy plastic tube

Well there's a giant-ass hole in your fender behind it in addition to holes all up the A-pillar from where it's mounted. Personally, I'd leave it because the only "delete" you'll find will leave plugs in those holes and will look worse than the snorkel. The only way to really remove it will involve welding in the holes and re-painting.

Maybe get a different head or something if you want to change the look... I personally think a cylinder-shaped head would look better than the scoop.

Even people who want a snorkel don't want that horrible looking POS. Safari or bust.

With all due respect, why in the world would you buy a truck that expensive, with a major feature you want to get rid of? Why not just wait for or order one without the stupid snorkel?

I believe the TRD snorkel bolted up in the roof channel though, you know, since it's all huge...

The TRD one mounts to your roof rack holes. No A pillar holes to be had.

    The other ones do though.

Sometimes you can't pass up a deal. I remember a few Pros in the NE that got a slash on the price cuz they couldn't move them. Voodoo blue w/ the dingus.

I thought I read somewhere on here that a guy tried to order one in blue and you could only order the white one without the snorkel? Or maybe that was a regional distributor thing.

OP..Just put a snorkel on the other side to balance it out and you're good to go. Then you'll have the antler look.

Unless the truck was close to free, there is no reasonable deal that would have me taking that snorkel home.
