I was able to put an OEM roof rack on with my snorkel. Just a dremel tool to cut in a slot and it fit over the top

jesus...i just saw this thread. I ordered an Army Green TRD Pro in manual transmission and was told it would take 4-5 months to get it. I said I'd take any color they could get me, so they went and found the first thing available, a black 2020 TRD Pro...except it had a snorkle. When asked if I'd take it, I just said yes. I'm gonna live with it.

Unbolt it, and leave the 4" glory hole for everyone else who wants to get inside a Pro. Just Google "Glory Hole", plenty of how to videos

Get airhole perforated vinyl sticker printed of a mouth with teeth or a butt hole and slap it over the opening. That is what I would do anyway.

Hi I’m new to the forum however I just purchased a trd pro tonight. Like most I’m not a fan of the snorkel look however I got a great deal on it because of the snorkel. I am going to cut it just above the windshield line at an angle such that rain ext can’t get in but such that I can reinstall it with a silicone boot for off road use. While the snorkel is off I found a screen from an espar diesel air heater that will make the cut air intake look factory. I will post pics when done and hopefully it turn out OK but will be a while as it’s cold up here in Canada.

OP did you end up removing your air intake? I just bought a leftover 19 and I’m in Canada so all not 19s come with snorkel so I didn’t have a choice. Love the truck but not sure about the snorkel(or whatever you want to call it). I am going to give it some time to see if it grows on me but I’m thinking I’m going to remove it. Would love to hear if there is anyone out there who has actually removed theirs and what it involved, replacing fender doesn’t bother me at all but I don’t want to void any warranty or cause any damage if I remove it.

Okay, so, I'm in a similar boat here to the original commenter here.

Found a used Taco with a snorkel and like 8k on it for a pretty good deal locally - Thinking I might pick it up. But the snorkel is not really my bag. I want it to get onto the beach now and again and haul kids and surfboards, occasional camping gear in the back. I also like the Idea of a snorkel so I want a mod that still lets me swap it on and off on an as-need basis. Maybe I'll get off-road at some point - who knows. I'm also a 3D Artist, who can model and 3D-print some pretty large, durable parts.

So, my question here is: How many of yall would be interested in some kind of real "Delete Kit" That keeps the functionality of a snorkel, maybe turning it into a fender scoop or something? So you can easily swap it on and off depending on if your daily driving or planning on getting muddy?

If there's enough interest I can build and print the thing and share it here. Build a handfull for whoever wants on.

I would be interested, did you get any interest or traction on this idea?

Lotta hate on the snorkel. Most parts of the world Toyota trucks come from the factory with one. Land Cruiser 70 series is a tough ass truck and comes standard with it. There are positives that come from having one.
