A lot of times, when I am around my truck, I need to have the key in the ignition to charge my phone or listen to the radio. Often, I also need to have the door open because I need stuff inside the cab. Unfortunately, the truck is making a very annoying sound when a door is open while the key is in the ignition. How can I disable that sound?

theres a 2 pin connector by the ignition under the column cover that if you unplug it wont recognize if the key is in the ignition or not and this will stop the chime.

That stated just know if you do that, you now will have the ability to lock the truck with the keys in the ignition.

If you unplug that connector your truck will store a trouble code in the immobilizer section. I know this because when I bought my truck it was disconnected and I was unable to program any new keys or remotes. The truck ran fine with it unplugged though.

You can't remove it completely. It has 3 settings low, medium and loud, which is the factory setting. I turn mine down to the lowest. I have the Toyota Techstream software and cable and do it using my lap top. Or you can have the dealer do it if you have a good relationship. If they aren't busy, they may help. Can't hurt to ask.

I just did this Mod with my 2005 DCSB and noticed the Immobilizer Light will flash even with the keys in the ignition. I was thinking about plugging the connector back in and just cutting the wire that connects the door chime, the flashing immobilizer light is driving me crazy! Does anyone know which wire goes to the chime?

The switch on the doorframe that lets the dome light know to come on should also be what lets the ignition know your door is open. Push it in and if the chime stops, then just duck tape it pushed in like the door was closed. I'd check on this, but I'm enjoying my morning coffee on the couch.

    Temp fix, no worries.

For my old Jeep that make these spring clips so when you remove the doors the dome lamps don't stay on the entire time.
