On a pioneer 3200DVD HU. So i should run that wire to a 2 way switch connected to the ground? Is this the best way to disable the safety function that prevents you from using the DVD function without the parking break on?

Depends on the unit. When I had my Pioneer Avic D3 in my last vehicle you had to both ground the wire that's supposed to go to the parking brake and move the mute wire on the RCA harness to a different pin. Just grounding the parking brake wire would give an error saying the parking brake wire wasn't properly connected. Not sure if it would be the same with yours. Sorry I can't help with that specific unit.

I didn't really care about the DVD part, I just cared about the fact that the D3 had navigation and I wanted to be able to change the destination without being in park.

So, I grounded one wire and soldered it to one of the poles of a two way switch. I soldered the parking break wire from the wiring harness to the other pole of the switch. When the screen for the HU with the "Don't drive and watch DVD's (whatever it says)" comes up, i flip the switch up down and up. That fixes it. I mounted the switch underneath the dash.

So you have to flip a switch every time you turn the car/HU on?? That sounds like a minor annoyance every time...

    And it's brake...
