find a scrap seatbelt, cut off the metal buckle and click it in when you want to trick the truck into thinking your buckled up.

I didnt take the time to read all the other posts. I'm sure someone else suggested it already but this is what I did when working on the property, not driving on the roads.

techstream is probably the only way.

then again probably can wire something up too.
find the wires leading to the buckle etc, its either a normally open contact or normally closed. I'm inclined to think its a normally open and when you put the buckle in it closes.
    Similar to a parking brake.

If its just a normally open just find a way to short it out so it thinks its always hooked up.

they should make a section on this forum for regional techstream owners that are willing to help other members.

Have it on VWVortex, anyone with VCDS can register so local members can find you. Would really help here.

Is Techstream same as VCDS? I still have my CAN Bus and VCDS software from my VW days.

    No different software. Different cable

Each company makes a cable, they may all be OBD but they all have little things inside that restrict the usage. I found out when trying to use my Ross Tech cable for BMW. You need to take it apart and put a little piece of solder to short something out to make it work for the BMW software.

Either way the VCDS software wouldn't work since it obviously only uses the protocol that VCDS and all the VW family uses for their CAN Gateways

Haven't looked into tech streams. There seems to be very little online info regarding tech stream, quick google search will give you a bunch of results for VCDS though lol. Regardless of the cable you still need the software. I doubt you can just download the software and make it work...actually I think tech stream still gives a CD which I am concerned about for when I get it since I dont have a CD drive on the laptop I use for VCDS, and techstream doesn't run on OS X, only windows

FU, obviously you do not run ranch roads where you are in and out of the truck a lot. I disabled mine on the 2009. I could not on the 2013 and dealer would not do it. I just fastened the belt behind me but half the time I forget to unfasten it after the last gate. I just disconnected the wire under the seat. This only works on the drivers seat.

If you take a small object, like inside of ball point pen, slide it in the buckle portion until it clicks, it fools the truck into thinking buckle is locked, then when you are ready to use it, click latch, and back into full functionality. Not practical to do everyday, but i have left mine done on passenger side for years, while i put work gear on passenger seat with no ill effects.
