    Does anyone have a good write up or a semi detailed description to take apart the front suspension to install different coils?

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Its similar to the second gens, just the ball joint is upside down. 3 nuts on top, a center nut holding the spring top plate on, and 1 bolt on the bottom of the shock.

    do NOT disassemble the coilover setup without a proper spring compressor

    the car jack method doesent work??
    (putting a car jack under the lca and slowly lowering it)

    SOLD!
    The strut will come out of the truck in one piece, granted you disassemble everything correctly. What tigerfan is saying is do not disassemble the strut assembly without using the proper spring compressors to relieve the tension that is being exerted onto the upper and lower retainers of the strut assembly. If you remove the top plate without using a spring compressor, you will find you're self in the emergency room quite quickly.


    All in all, it is a pretty simple job if you a semi-mechanically inclined. Just read some of the write-ups on here and you should be good to go. The search button is your friend!
