BTW anyone got any other sellers of extrusion? Lead time through 80/20 is super long. I was thinking of looking around locally next and save myself the cash on shipping.

And, for lining up the roof/floor, getting these will make your life a LOT easier https://www.tnutz.com/product/db-015/

Personally too, I would get 200-225 total, depending on if/how you mix them.

tnutz. I don’t personally like them due to some shitty customer service I had but I’ve had to purchase from them because they seem to be able to get items to me in a week or two compared to 80/20 being so backlogged

The tnutz variety also seem to rust/strip/crossthread VERY easily.

That's about the same as 80/20, mine was $971 shipped.

If you want to do black the 80/20 is worth the wait for the anodization quality. The black tnutz stuff fades quickly, so only do the silver if you don't mind the aesthetic difference.

Thank you. I was just looking at these. Wish they were stainless steel vs black anodized but that shouldn’t be a problem, right?

The black oxide is what most people use I think. Again though, for lining up the roof and floor the spring loaded ones are the way to go IMO.

McMaster also sells extrusions. They’re more expensive but you may save on shipping

What kind of distance do you guys have between the cab and the wedge bed floor? I have an F150 with relatively small icon lift and no large antenna fin. Is this just basically a guessing game? Same with distance between back truck window and space frame?

I'm sitting at just under 1" from center of cab (highest point) to bolt heads. I have a 46" overhang, which is quite a bit more than Ripcord's, but even then it only deflects about 1/2" if I stand on the very edge @ 200lbs.

Thanks! I guess I can throw one wheel up a curb or mound of dirt to see what the flex is like. I was looking at the AT Summit camper to see what their full size truck proportions were 62” over cab length which seems massive (definitely not doing that). For a total of 124” in length at the top.

They don’t provide dimensions between the cabs highest points and bolt heads but it looks like 4-6” which ends up looking goofy (imo). But theirs is built to be more universal, I believe. I’d like it to be as low profile as possible though.

Yeah, I used theirs as a reference when resizing mine. My wedge is 57" x 120" on a long bed Tacoma. Not sure how I got less clearance than others, as my spaceframe is the same height as the Ripcord plans. I did replace my stock bed rail covers with some KB Voodoo, so lost height there, but he deleted his entirely.

For anyone who designed their camper with a lifting bed platform.
How did you guys fix the platform to the narrow end of the wedge? Hinges attached to the space frame? Hinges to the aluminum extrusion?

Just looking for ideas as I work on my CAD model. Any info/pics would be appreciated!

From what I’ve seen in the forum. They used hinges to the space frame above the bulkhead section of frame. Then weld some angle steel to the inside sides of the space frame to support the bed while it’s down. PNWXplore has a good YouTube video and instagram stories which shows how he did those.
