Because I'm an idiot and read the spreadsheet wrong. It felt a little excessive.

On another note, I'm just gonna scrap the camper build and use this as a spoiler. I believe it should provide adequate down force.20200814_133115.jpg

Well, it only took me about a year... but I am putting the finishing touches on my camper! Unfortunately due to work, I had to ignore @Ripcord's great advise to go for a shakedown 1 night trip. I leave tonight for 1 week in SW Colorado. I'll take some more pictures in the morning since I am sure it will be dark when I get to camp. I can't thank Jim enough for all of the advise and questions he answered along the way! We will have to find a weekend to camp together soon!

I think it’s safe to refer to ripcord as the diy wedge camper Yoda at this point. I’ve harassed him with SO MANY questions.

Anybody seam sealing their tents? I’m debating taping my seams before putting on the frame or brush on seam sealer after the tent is installed.

I did. Not sure how much it helped, haven't camped in the rain yet, but it was easy enough to do before putting the canvas in the frame.

Not sure of the brand but it was an iron on 1in wide tape. It didn't stick as well as I'd like, you can peek it off but they said that's normal, I think the brush on would work just as well.

Got to take my tent or on it's shakedown trip two weeks ago. 3200 miles done from Wa through Oregon and Idaho to Yellowstone and back. Tent did great, I was worried about dust intrusion but spent a good bit of time while building it to make sure I minimized intrusion spots. Drive through a couple thunder storms with no sign of water getting in. Ended up tightening some bolts half way through but I expected that. All in all I am super happy with how it turned out.

Pretty soon I'll be tackling this project myself with a few tweaks here and there!
Currently I'm in the the planning stage.
I'm planning to use 80/20's 3030 and 3060 extruded aluminum, but do you guys think i can make a solid structure using 2020 and 2040? So that I can lower costs.
