Shit, I might have to pick this up. I have a backup camera and front facing camera wired into my stereo already, but they obviously lack the recording capability and the backup cam is down by the license plate. This would be nice to have!

Did you seal the roof bolts to the panel?

I have a back up camera... This is a nice gadget, except for dangling cords.

A backup camera only works in reverse... This works all the time.

The Wedge camper typically blocks the rear window completely. According to the website that picture was before he tucked the cords away.

Afternoon all, was wondering what most folks using for brackets to attach camper to a truck bed? Have in mind the most basic L brakcets welded to the frame but was wondering if there is anything available a GFC style ? Thanks!

I'm using the same welded-on brackets as Ripcords design. If you go this route... I highly recommend placing the camper frame on the truck bed aligning it exactly how you want it to sit, measure 10 times, and then tack them on while everything is on the truck bed. Take off everything and finish welding. This way you will have a perfect fit and zero headaches later.

I was just going to make L brackets as I couldn't find anything online in my searching. There was one type I remember but couldn't remember who made it.

All I did was order some canopy c clamps from Amazon. Should be plenty effective

New toy arrived for my build. :) just have to build a workbench for it. This will help make those compound bevel cuts, once I figure out my issue in fusion 360 and the assembly. Stupid angles

I can switch the blade out for a standard wood blade and use it for my woodworking too.

nice, I’ve given up on fusion 360. I think I’m just going to use maths to figure out my angles.

I did mess with two point planes to get something to measure off of and I think I got the angles but I’m waiting for a friend to give me a hand with my assembly issue so I can be 100%

How do you create a plane with only two points?

Not sure if I even want to get involved in this conversation as I am like very new to Fusion 360, but my process was like this:
Created bottom portion, then using offset plane - made a top portion, used lines to draw the uprights and then moved my square piped instead of lines, aligned it all and used planes as a cutting tool to split the body.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNVSiTv4_c0 all I learned from literally this video within one day, if someone is looking for it.

No problem. I was genuinely curious. I know some of these CAD packages let you do some not so legit stuff. Lots of times they let you do these kinds of things and automatically make assumptions about the missing information. Great for small projects, but a real nightmare if you do a huge assembly of parts without fully defining everything.

yours looks like it has a lot of rake to it.

Thats one way to do it. I made two different assemblies, a top and bottom, and brought them into a third file in the event that I wanted to change the sleeping platform it would automatically update the assembly file.
