I called them direct (no account) panels ordered today, scheduled for delivery tomorrow
I ordered 3mm panels for the roof and sides and a 6mm panel for the sleep platform
They have a route they run and so delivery for me was at no cost because I was on their route

I talked to Nglantz and they didn’t have any specs for the 6mm beyond this

Can you explain what the difference is in the "countersinks" in the extrusion? Sorry, I'm new to all this!

was thinking about getting some of the adhesive backed carpet tiles to do the doors on the insides. Can anyone think of any draw backs? Was thinking it would add just a little bit of insulation and some sound deadening

Adds some weight to the doors. Maybe adhere them temporarily before committing?

check out post 15 of this build. This is how 80/20 implemented it. Tnutz did mine on the vertical section. They also didn’t paint it. Kinda shotty work in my opinion but I saved a couple hundred going with them instead of 80/20.

Yeah the weight is one thing for sure, would exaggerate any bowing in a 6ft bed door.

Well I think my corners for the extrusion might be a little bit lost

pretty sure the quickest way from New York > California doesn’t involve Florida... or London

Hi all - if anyone is trying to slide in the bulb seals in the 8020 (pieces that seals the extrusions when the tent is closed), you can get them in place and light hammer them in or push them with your thumbs. Did the whole extrusion in about 10 mins.

hopefully this saves you some time.

Has anyone played around with optimum gas strut placement for the wedge? Trying to find the right spot that puts good upward pressure on the tent when open, but isn't too hard to pull down. Currently, the lower 10mm ball is 39.5" from the front and the upper is about 20" past that.

Also, for the back door and keeping it closed without latching (like when you are inside) I think you could pick this up here and mount it to the door, that way when closed, the top of the strut is past center and it should then want to push it closed. Similar to doing the same for the wedge. I might give it a try

    none

Looking at it, I think it will ride under it...I have a roof platform I made, that is over the fin, the space frame should be about level with a little more than an inch above it.

i dunno if that’s going to be enough, when I finely build the wedge I’m planning on possibly sanding an inch or so off the fin.

There is a guy on here selling a replacement fin that is shorter in height.

It’s a little pricey but well made. So that an option or just building the setup to be higher than the shark fin

Thats only for the second gen. The third gen roof fin is a bit more complicated than the 2nd gen since its antennas and electronics go up into the fin itself
