is the .065 wall thickness equivalent to 14ga square tubing? Calling around to my metal shops and they can only get 14 gauge in 1.5" square tubing

I think you want 16 gauge square tubing

    https://www.atc-mechanical.com/tube-pipe-101/tube-pipe-size-overview/

I bought my steel from Metal Supermarkets and they listed it as 1.5x1.5x.065

I put my test cut of a side panel on and this slightly concerns me

I feel like that’s something that silicone could fix. That’s the side that goes against the cab, right?

That’s a bed side of the camper. I’m sure gaskets and some sort of butyl tape might work. Plus the wood I used isn’t very flexible

Turning out pretty good having never touched a sewing machine before this.

That looks about the same as when I did my assembly, I haven't gotten to the weatherstripping part yet though. There definitely is a gap at the top. One of the things I considered was brake bending the panels in the beginning to match the surface planes. Just a thought.

if I had a bending brake of suitable size I would consider it. I might weld on some sheet metal to fill the gap. Super Pacific and their riveted together camper utilizes a sheet metal lip around the entire opening to stop water intrusion, but their side panels are 3D instead of a flat sheet.
