Ah yea I got the OVS 270 awning. The bigger one, thing is freaking heavy. Wasn’t sure the weight rating on the iron man ones.
I haven’t mounted it yet. Modeled my concept in CAD so it’s “easily” removable if desired to store it between trips. Hopefully have it mounted within 2 weeks.

I don't think the latches release from inside.

You could make it work by having them latch to something that you can move or release. Instead of latching against the tube, they could latch on a sliding tab for example. Then you could just slide your tab to get the panel to open. The latch would remain in the closed position. I believe GFC did this on their second gen model (with aluminum frame).

This is awesome. I recently had the idea of building a wedge camper and it’s great to see what kind of materials worked well.

Decided I didn’t like the amount of sag/arch the 1515 roof framing allowed, so I upgraded to to hella tall 1530

I wish I had pictures, but the roof had probably 2 inches of sag

I convinced @Ripcord to add his awning bracket files to his site. Would just need someone to cut and bend it from the file. Worked like champ with my standard awning.

Looking at the build sheet, trying round everything off for final assembly, and I can't seem to find the seals that cover the outside slots in the extrusion. Anyone here have a link? Can't seem to find going trough the tread either.

@Ripcord how much does the angle of the front of the space frame match the angle of the cab? I’m looking at making this for my RC, but since the back of the cab is more vertical than the AC/DC models I’ve seen throughout the thread, I’m concerned about any contact at the top of the cab. Also, how much taller than the cab is the space frame?

You don't really need those. They are purely for aesthetics / keeping muck out of the rails. but a pressure washer can clean them out easily.

For anyone curious or wondering, I grabbed some of the sewable keder track from sail rite to try in the corners. We’ll see how it holds up. I’m going to try a washer to spread the load out but I’m hoping this will make a better deal in the corners with the 4 hole bracket on the 1.5” extrusion

Nice idea! I tried to make the flap over the extrusion to be overlapping. Hoping that reduces water. If not I think I will try this idea.

If you cut the bracket down .40” then it’ll let you slide the keder rail underneath.
that’s what I did and that helped a lot. I’ll try to snap some pictures

I cannot attest to the fit but I know this is supposed to be the same dimensions as the megamatt duo and several people are running that.

I bought this mattress on eBay new for like $110 with free shipping fyi, so give that a look. *edit-- they have now jacked the price up... sorry!* Super conformable and good build quality. Arrived quickly too.
