I also finally got mine finished. Here some pictures from Lake Superior.

    things to rework so far:
1: shorten the bungee for more tension
2: seal the seams of the tent. Not all 100%
3: get a solution for getting the piano hinges water restistance.1F52C2CF-A481-49F3-8026-C215F0AE0802.jpg0B45C409-0C96-475F-AF41-1E2DA414BEE2.jpg175CF251-FFBB-4243-BEC1-8C258AB62045.jpg5704FF20-AE46-41B7-A6F8-C2C1C2BC44EE.jpg

The hinges do leak a little, but nothing terrible so far. The bulb seals seem to be doing of good job of keeping out the water. Its not a waterproof hinge so it was expected, but the holes in the hinges are smaller than the home depot hinges, so less open space = less water... at least thats how I see it.

Awesome first campsite. I'm pretty sure I know exactly where along Lake Superior you were.

Is there anyone out there that would sew my tent for me for a price? I did my own ans I am just not a skilled enough at sewing to make it look halfway nice and funtion the way I want it to. My hope is to just give someone the measurement of my wedge opened to the angle I want and how many windows I need. Not sure what somone would charge in labor for that but I might be willing to pay it at this point to get the tent to have a more finished look. If your interested PM me.

How in the world does this get sealed?

and I’m short a ton of extrusion nuts. Wish I had counted before I ordered my overpriced box of 5/8” button head bolts

I seen a post earlier that someone used the bulbed seal and just trimmed a bit to run over the gap and onto the other extrusion.

I've been trying various things, but will probably end up buying more bulb seal and re-running it to go around the corner. Currently have the corner filled with normal adhesive bulb seal, trimmed at 45* angles. Cracks filled with caulking

dang it.. I wish I had seen this before I did my extrusion seal. I might have enough scrap to make something for the corners and just urethane all of the joints together.

So what’s the measurement for the big struts. How far from the front is each ball stud?

I think this depends on your tent height, right?

Maybe? I guess I’ll have to wait until the tent is made

my tent fabric came in a 60in width. I looked at the open height of CVT and Roofnest similar tents and went with ~55in. I moved the struts to meet that 55in height and locked them down. easy-peezy.

I did 2 coats of steel it and wish I had done 2 more. Was not thick enough and am getting a lot of rusty spots where it was thin. I’ll probably pull it apart sometime this summer and respray it.

What size/profile 80/20 are people using for a roof rack to go on the lid?

That corner piece looks like a 1.0" profile instead of the 1.5"

That looks awesome. One page 2 I have a door hinge solution where you basically wrap/seal with some scrap fabric and a bit of sealant.

Anyone in the greater Bozeman area building one of these? I'm starting to plan out my project and would love to check out a build, collaborate on sourcing materials, etc etc. I know vermonttaco built one here but I assume they're long gone.
