For me, the easiest solution has generally been to remove the bed. That exposes the tank. Now you have access to everything including the filler neck. Remove the hose, and you can get most of it out with a siphon hose or manual pump. However, that being said, you REALLY do need to know what it is (the liquid).

I dislike dropping a tank from the bottom, particularly if it has a lot of fuel in it. My old ranger made that impossible due to the T shape of the tank with ears over the frame cross-members. But with the bed removal (easy on the Yota with the obvious bed retaining screws) that certainly seems easier to me.

I know someone on hear a few years ago filled his tank with #2 (diesel that is). I recall he ended up disconnecting the fuel line up front and jumping the fuel pump relay to pump it out. I don't recall exactly where he disconnected the fuel line but with the pump in the tank (16's are still in the tank, right) anywhere after that would work.

If you're positive it isn't diesel, it sounds like valvtech marine gasoline. Which is basically a stabilizer added to E10 regular 89 octane fuel. It is just fine to run in your truck.

I've used a mityvac to do mine. Small hose like 1/4" will work as well. Mity vac comes with rigid hose, so it is easier to get into the tank

With only 5 gallons in the tank, couldn't you just fill it with regular gas and burn it out?

If the truck ran on it, I think I would have filled with premium and run it out. Just me. Probably better than 90% of Mexican fuel sold country wide, and there's plenty on Tacos in Mexico.

    See what I did there?

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead. I needed to drain old fuel from my 2018 taco that was sitting for two years with the same fuel. In case you think you can jump the pump, no you can't. The Tacos have a fuel pump ECU that dynamically controls the output of the pump based on what the main ECU tells it.

What I ended up doing is removing one of the fuel line push connectors under the hood (the one closes to the front of the car). I then attached a manual transfer pump ($7 at Harbor Freight) to the nipple that goes down to the fuel tank and began pumping. Took me about 10 minutes to pull 5 gallons out so it's not a super fast process but it involves no tools (besides the pump), no removal of box or electronics. Just make sure to wrap the fuel line with a rag before taking it off to avoid spillage as the lines are under some pressure if you just shut the car off. Hopefully this helps anyone in the future who comes across this like I did.

I need to drain my fuel tank. Can you elaborate on this process? Thanks.
