Yes you can just not the specified fluid check temp was changed to 97-115F per the TSB attached below.
I would just do a drain and fill.

Thank you so much for the reply. I really appreciate the help! Especially since this will be my first time doing the drain & fill.

TSB file attached also clarified everything I needed to know

I would drop the pan, clean the pan & magnets, install a new strainer & gasket. Then top off the fluid when complete.

Thank you for this. I figure that I would need to Drain/Fill a couple of times to replenish the transmission with the cleanest fluid possible after driving it for some miles? I know Toyota based on my maintenance log they provided recommends every 60k.

what would be the best mileage intervals to get the most quarts drained and cleanest fluid?

This probably was already answered but can't you just refill the Trans with the same amount of fluid that was drained? Or is the AT temp check really necessary.. thinking about doing this, truck is 10 years old with 111xxx miles on it.

A lot of us have found that the transmissions came from the factory underfilled. You can add back the same amount, but you will not know if the level is really correct until using the AT temp method.

Not sure if they can be done with a jumper wire or not, you may want to ask the guys in the 3rd gen section.

Are the aftermarket gaskets and filters good for the money, or stick with the OEM parts?

So much this!!! Mine was way low, shifting was really harsh and jerky. After doing a full flush, and the AT temp fill method, shifting is super smooth now. Wish I'd done the flush much sooner.

Im running an aftermarket "filter" in mine which came with a pan gasket. I already had an OEM one on hand though. That was a much nicer pliable material IMO much better quality

Just did this last weekend. 2015 V6 Auto. Only got about 2.5Qt drained out, to confirm others stories. Funny thing was that in June in Texas, it was already at the right temp when I started the check procedure.

Yep, down here in CC we've been between 118-121 heat index for a couple of weeks now. It's actually cooler in AZ. Come on December, I'm ready for some cooler weather.

My brother just moved down there and I talked to him a few days ago and he said the heat index was going to be 117*. I think I'll put up with the winters.
