How to Drain/Refill Automatic Transmission

I’m seeing two different temperature ranges (104F-113F and 115F-130F) before pulling the overflow plug to check the fluid level after a drain and flush or drain and fill. Which temp range for fluid level check is appropriate for the A750F tranny?

 

what size tube are you running from the funnel to Tran fill hole, 1/2 inch?

Keep in mind one of the sensors will be the converter. How you can tell will be the speed in which the temperature climbs - ie. a hill or if you accelerate. You dont want to take the temperature from this sensor. The other sensor will be the pan - it will me a slower temperature climb - this is the reading/sensor you want. Once you reach the range (115-130F) you do your check.

Not 100% sure but I believe so

 

My 07 Tacoma always checked at 97-115°F.

Just for information it took my truck 23 minutes of idling before my A/T temp light illuminated at a 50* outside temp. Just putting this here because the original post says 10 minutes and someone new to this might think it’s not working.

 

Good reminder! Ambient temperature plays a big role. In hot summer temperatures it goes real quick!

 

Good to know, thanks. I think if I check it at approximately 115 I should be in the right range. I’ll be using an OBDII Scanner to read the pan temperature sensor

I’m surprised Toyota says that, service dept at my Toyota is always super eager to do some kind of flush, fluid change ect

 

Very quick....like 5 minutes sometimes. But once waited over 45 minutes when it was 12° on a bone cold transmission

 

Once you do a couple...it's not bad. I've done several...never an issue

 

Well i just boughy a hanes manual and it says nothing about jumping the obd2 connector. It just says run truck for 15 min and recheck......also can someone confirm for me how this over flow works? Is it a tube or something connected to the pan?

it’s a vertical tube inside the pan.
