Gunther any way on the AVH 4100 NEX units to do a bypass through the radio. Had it installed didn't worry about grounding out the parking brake because I assumed the 4th quadrant trick was going to work but it doesn't seem too. Firmware is 1.03. If Pioneer took away the fourth quadrant trick I'm wondering how svc techs and developers access. Is grounding out the parking brake wire okay or do you have to do the relay

I believe you have to engage ebrake, disengage and re-engage which means I think you need a switch as they've figured out that people are just grounding the parking brake to get around this safety feature. So with a switch, you could switch on, off and on again tricking it into thinking you've pressed, released and re-pressed the parking brake.

If it doesn't work you "could" use a switch. ( I personally think there is a better and seamless way. Plus, who wants to mess with a switch ) get a double pulse relay or make a bypass

Can anyone verify if the software bypass still works after updating firmware to 1.05 on 6100NEX?

Also, if it helps anyone else out, I originally couldn't get my 6100NEX to do the bypass. The trick was that I needed to calibrate the touch screen first, even though everything seemed like it was clicking where I was touching. (It's a menu option to do this somewhere in the settings) Then when trying the bypass again just like all the videos explain it worked first try.

You can use that (though I have never) or just use a pac tr-7. Pioneers just need a double pulse relay if not using a switch (which I would never... Just me though). Tr-7 can be used for MANY different things. Also good if someone gets an alpine ddin.

I'm not sure, sounds possible. I have not updated my firmware at all. Did the update improve anything else? If not maybe see if you can uninstall the update.

just grounding parking brake doesn't work on that radio. people will say use a micro bypass but sometimes they don't work. I have made them before. I generally use a pac tr-7 when installing stereos that use a double pulse. (this is what I do for a living and never had a problem)

When I first bought it the 15sec trick didn't work but I guess it's very sensitive ,, anyway I'd live to add a rear camera to the rear bumper , I did notice it had a rear setting , assuming it's for a camera and ideas for me ,
    Thanks

Cool trick. I'm going to try it on my 5100 when it's installed. You mentioned in the YouTube video comments that you wired the rear view mirror backup camera to the radio. Do you have any instructions posted for how you did that?

    Thanks
