Bringing this thread back up bc I'm having a problem trying to do mine.
Lots of confusion so just to clear it up:
I have the one where is says in the manual that you have to brake, release, then brake for it to work. So I CANT just ground the parking wire?
Also.... I'm having a hard time even finding the wire.
It says light green wire but where is it located? I can't find any freaking pictures either /:

Did you try the bypass workaround shown in the video?

Actually I got it to bypass the message!
But my Aux doesn't play music.. And haven't tried DVDs yet... Just excited the message doesn't pop anymore hah

This is the wire I found coming out of the parking brake on my 09 access cab. It is a pain to get to an work with. I got it unplugged, pulled it down, and managed to tap into it. I thought it might go to the fuse box but I couldn't get connectivity from of the green/yellow wire I found there. I'm not concerned with bypassing the video so maybe it works... or not. So far the head unit hasn't melted down.

I'm having the same issue with the aux on a Avic5200NEX, I was told that another specialized connector is required. That was after an hour on the phone with Crutchfield. I don't think that has anything to do with your bypass.

I have zero issues playing video via any connection once I installed the microbypass. Without it as soon as I shifted out of park, the video would stop.

Just got a brand new AVH4200 (03 July 2017). This touch the screen fix/bypass doesn't do anything when I touch the screen. :-(

Has anyone else with a 4200 gotten it to work?

What screen/bypass are you talking about? The one in the corner? If so it's a no go

Thanks... I figured it wasn't that hard that I could have been doing something wrong. The installers screwed up and didn't hook up my e-brake wire properly. Seriously... how hard is it to put in a DVD to make sure things are working? I'll be giving them "another - you screwed up" visit tomorrow.

Apparently this is also the reason my S7 won't work with Android-Auto as well.. according to the tech at Pioneer.

Are there any Easter eggs at all on the 4200?

If you want to have the unit unlocked so it does DVD/video while driving, entering addresses and unlocking Bluetooth then they need to install a microbypass or even like a PAC audio TR-1 ( double pulse ) ( I install them damn near daily ). Some people install a switch but personally that cheap and lazy ( actually more work than the other I listed because it does it automatically ). Who wants a switch for something like that when it's not needed. Just my thought. I like the clean and automatic like its factory

The 4200 and all x200 series are a year newer. Pioneer probably changed the system. Let me ask my engineer friend who works there.

BTW.. my video passed 65k views. Not too shabby

Bypass of some sort will work on the unit. When I say some sort I mean micro or tr1 etc.

The ONLY unit that CANNOT be bypassed by pioneer is the new 4400. It’s because of the vss wire and gps antenna.

“Technically” it CAN be if you DONT hook up either of the 2. Then it’s basically an upgraded 2300

So you are saying microbypass or pac tr1 can't bypass the new 4400. Rats!

The lower second quadrant bypass works on my 8200 running up to date firmware.
