Interesting. I don’t think the 4500 requires the microbypass. Yesterday I did the onscreen bypass with my Maestro on firmware 2.09 and the warning went away, no shutting down yet. Might try reflashing yours if not on 2.09.

In addition, if you’re experiencing similar shutdown issues to mine, might be worth piggybacking to this post of mine on the Maestro forum. They are very helpful and really try to help solve the issue. http://www.12voltdata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=82427#p82427

Thanks. I discovered the onscreen bypass after the microbypass was installed. That last post in the above thread seems to indicate that the microbypass is conflicting with GPS data. I'm not sure since I don't have navigation but I do have a GPS antenna. I suppose I should pull the receiver out and remove the bypass. Maybe try flashing the Maestro while I am in there.

I just stumbled on this thread after about almost 30 tries. I have a Pioneer AVIC-W6600NEX and was trying all different variations and finger placements. This particular HU is just on the LH bottom corner edge of the screen. Use your pinky (my index finger seem to be too big or something) until you get the audible and visual confirmation, about 10 or so seconds. Viola! One touch that's all.

Ok, I must have a newer unit. I have the AVH-2550nex. Is there a way to bypass this to watch dvd's while driving without having to hook up a switch to the ground wire? The steps above in the video did now work.

    thanks

I just had that same radio installed today. Have you figured out a way to bypass the parking brake? I'm not trying to watch dvd's while driving, I just want to add my own pic to the background and it won't let me view the pics unless I press the parking brake. Any info would br greatly appreciated.

What did you do in post #106? All's I see on post #106 is the one above your comment stating he didn't get it to work after watching the video? It would be greatly appreciated if you can help me with what you did. Thanks
