How to exit from inside Alu-Cab Contour Canopy

I recently got an Alu-Cab Contour Canopy and I have loved it. But one thing I have noticed is there isn't an obvious way to close or open the back door when inside. This presents an issue if I needed to sleep inside.

Does anyone know how to open up or close the back door from the inside?

 

I don't have any info, but maybe you could do a video walk around or pics? its hard to find info on the contour canopy places. i think bustabeatgeorge did something, but another perspective would be nice

 

Upper right hand corner of interior rear door should have a clasp. I removed stock clamp on lower right hand corner. Watch out for finger-biter mechanism.

 

Anyone figure this out? About to drill some small holes in the inside of the latches to be able to open unless there is another existing option.

I contacted OK4wd and they informed me there isn't really a way. He said that he has had customers setup clips/straps to close the doors from the inside. If you are worried about someone locking you in, have an 8mm wrench inside to remove the latches.

But maybe later?? I have the same concerns, and am holding off on purchasing a Canopy Camper till I hear of a reliable solution(s) so I won't one of "those guys" that gets locked in...

 

I thought it was mandatory to have an interior release. Even my Snugtop has one.

 

I would have thought so, but remember.. These aren't American Made products, and don't have to follow common sense rules... Again, why would you design and outfit a camper cap with windows/windoors with an open and closing window designed into the window unit and such without taking into account people might want to sleep inside of their truck beds?

Thanks for finding this! Camped many time past summer sleeping in my contour. Even though I warned my friends NOT to close the latch on me it felt like I was drawing attention to the opportunity. All too bad they are out of stock.

 

who's going to email them asking why they advocate for human trafficking and abduction? perhaps it pads their bottom line?
