No, but I understand the economy now, if people were not paying 5k over sticker the dealers wouldn't do it, just like on the flipside when some cars have a 5k-8k rebate during a different Economy.........I dont like the way it is but I understand it

Those numbers are for calendar year sales, not model years, so there are still five months to report. So far '22 sales are down from '21 but similar to '20.

That's what this chart shows as well as others I've found.

I suppose I could be reading it wrong but most manufacturers divide sales out into monthly and quarterly sales by calendar year and not model year.

Otherwise they need to wait until the last few 2022s will sell to report for instance. Now that would be no problem but in the past that could be into 2023 for example. You'd also see a big drop in sales around August and September when the factories are shut down for model year turnover.

A little bit of this, and a little bit of that.
slightly off topic with this, but my local dealership is getting shafted. last time I was in there picking up a skidplate, I asked, and they said that they've had every single allocation get cancelled, and within the last 6 months, they've had a grand total of 13 tacomas(of any trim at all) show up from Toyota, with none being manual, and none being a TRD PRO. i lucked out back in feburary of 2021 when I got mine, 2019 trd offroad in a 6MT with 13,000 miles on it for almost 25% off of what msrp on a new one would be, and yesterday they called to try to get me to sell it back to them for about 10% over MSRP, just because they don't have ANY tacoma inventory showing up at all, and they have ENDLESS demand for tacomas. (I will admit, I wanted a PRO to begin with, but the deal was too good on the OR, and with the $$ I saved on getting the OR in my ideal spec with 12,000, miles on it, I've made exactly to my liking, and still significantly under MSRP for a 21 PRO)

I only had my 22 pro auto for a few weeks before I sold it. ( I found a 6MT so I sold it. But my 6MT got cancelled) I really don’t know if the value is there for a Pro. At least up here in Canada. An OR is 45ish from what I remember. A sport premium is the only other way to get a 6MT up here. I think they are about 47-48k. But seeing how rare they are I may take my dealer up who just offered me a 23 Pro 6MT due to arrive end of October.

So I just got a call from a dealer in Jacksonville saying someone backed out of a deal on a 2022 Pro with a manual transmission. It’s lime green. And it’s for sale at MSRP. He actually let me go down the accessory list and tell him which ones I want and don’t want. My wife doesn’t care for the color. Only one of my four children like the color. I really like it for some reason. I think I’m going to go for it; I have to trade in my old truck and my Miata.

Just had another dealer mysteriously find another Tacoma TRD Pro manual and all of a sudden they are able to drop their $10k markup. What’s going on?

I was browsing my local dealerships and found two; A 22 Electric Green AT and a 20 Black MT.
I was dead set on the MT so I was thankful it was the black one, nothing against the electric green but my 17 Taco was black and plus my wife's only input was that she hated the green color.

I did not realize how fortunate I was to have stumbled across this truck when I did. Drives and shifts like a dream and for reasons unconfirmed, it just feel so much smoother than my 17 OR.

I lifted my last two Tacoma's but I'm keeping this one stock for the foreseeable future. (Maybe I'm finally getting old)
