Nope just keep layering it on. It slowly wears down over time, so you want to respray it over the top, but no need to remove the old stuff. High contact areas are going to need it the most - wheel wells, front of A arms, front of rear axle, etc. Just don't spray it on the exhaust or it'll be (extra) stinky for awhile.

Thanks for pics, I am going to spray door panels now. I had woolwax spray done at ziebart here, they did good job with frame but didn't do door panels or tailgate.

I like to sleep in my truck.
I have a bottle at home that was given to me. I dont have the means to spray it. If I spray it at work on a lift, does it get everywhere? Is outside better?

It will coat the floor for sure. The place I initially got mine done at had a bed of woodchips on the ground under the lift.

I take mine to a shop every year to have the FF applied. Mechanics are shocked at how good the underside looks after 5 years!

I started an annual application regimen when my 2016 was new. Last year I worked on a friends 2017 that was never treated. Both trucks spent their life in the same part of Maryland, not crazy amounts of snow but it seems they brine the roads whenever there's a chance of it being in the 30's and possible precipitation. In my opinion, there was a noticeable difference in the condition of the undercarriage. Not that there's massive holes in the frame or bodywork, but all the fasteners and lots of welds were rusting and the box channel at the drivers door had rust bubbling through.

That stuff works, I have had an older 2nd gen in Vermont for 7 years and used spraycans (12) every fall. Frame was like new but filthy.
On a new truck I used the same 12 cans last fall and it should be all good. Stuff is great for keeping existing rust from spreading. The only drawback is how messy it is.

This, for what little the shops charge and how much product they soak your inside body panels and frame with,, it's not worth it to me to spray at home.

yep, mine is the same! I’m in at $149- if you have them do it yearly, they lock in the price.

Lots of happy Fluid Film users, especially if you've already invested in their application system, or if you have a good local shop that you want to support every year. But I can't help but think modern options might be better. I use Corrosion-X because it actively bonds to metal instead of just passively coating like the sheep juice. It's also chemically active to fight rust instead of just covering up your parts and praying. Way less stinky and almost zero dripping so it's easier to apply and comes in different viscosities. I use green Corrosion-X HD in the frame, dries like wax. Orange Corrosion-X XD on driveline and suspension. Red Corrosion-X original in the door panels, hinges, etc. places where I want it to creep and spread.

not knocking a proven product like Fluid Film, but a chemical option seemed a bit smarter IMHO. 4th salty Great Lakes winter and looking great thus far
