i think you save up your money and then you find the bike you want. Then you give away your money.

You get to decide...If she's not willing to talk about it, then is having a bike or a girlfriend more important to you.

TONS of folks have had this battle, and if she's not even willing to discuss it (and I have to assume she's not because you came here to ask what to do) then you need to think about the impact of a long term relationship with her - If you DON'T get a bike, Will you reset her for it? If you do "talk her into it" - Will it be at the back of her mind?

As far as what bike to get - How much riding have you done? Safety classes? Other bikes you've owned?

Take appropriate safety courses, get licensed, get insured, get bike, ride and don't look back.( figuratively, not literally)

I bought a bike and asked for forgiveness later. My mom was mad for a couple days but whatever. She's still my mom today.

Im still curious as to how old the OP is? Parents are involved you say. They were ok with dirt bikes but not street bikes. Do you work full time? Can you afford the bike payment, insurance, ect. ????????

    Same.

Mom wouldn't let me get a bike when I was 19. I needed her to cosign a loan for me which she had no problem doing, but not for a motorcycle.

So I worked my ass off, saved money, and bought one. She was mad for a few days, but eventually she stopped. Since then, I have had 3 bikes, lol

You can buy my bike :D it got me the girl, and then I crashed and got some cash so now she's happy either way and I hardly ride anymore. So $4500 and its yours with 2 helmets, one for you and one for the new gf :D lol

Get the bike. Unless your really in love then maybe skip the bike.
