    Hello,

I'm new to this and sifting through the forums. I'm curious how to get a wider stance without having a lift? Is it possible to use a spacer with the stock set up without problems?

Change the wheels to a lower Positive Offset.

Spacers can be prone to problems.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
    Check out SCS wheels, the -10 offset looks good with a 265 70 17 or a 265 75 16 tire.
    No lift needed.

Absolutely possible to run spacers without problems.
Just make sure it's hub centric and one of the ones with lugs.

Hub-centric spacers like Bora or Spidertrax are perfectly safe. The only way those can cause problems is if you don't know how to tighten 6 lug nuts

1" Bora spacers pretty harmless, not sure what they buy you in the various departments of looks, handling, longevity, etc

You can run a wider wheel with some negative offset and wider tires. But at some point, you will run into a problem with the tire rubbing on the cab mount if they stick out too far. My wheels are 17x8.5 with -10 offset and the tires are 305/65/17. I get some slight rubbing at full lock but my truck also has about 3" of lift and SPC upper control arms which can be adjusted to push the wheel forward in the wheel well.

TRD 4Runner Pro wheels have a positive offset. I seem to recall 15 to 20mm more than Tacoma?
