Do they pull out or is there a clip that holds them in that needs to be pressed to allow the wire to slide out?

Are you trying to pull a single wire out of its plug?

Or the entire plug out of its recepticle?

Single pins usually require a small tool to release the pin clip. There's some videos on YouTube on how to do it.

You will usually need a mini flathead (watch repair type) or an ice pick to unlock the terminal from the connector that the wire is in. There are quite a few different styles though so how you unlock the terminal really depends on what connector you are dealing with.

I found the door on the top middle of the connector that pops up that is ultimately a lock. I opened that up but have no idea what needs to be done to actually un clip the wire from the terminal. Do I need to pry or just insert it into the hole?

all these connector types have special small tools to unlatch the pins, they pop out easy with the special
tool, problem is finding a kit that has all of them

tiny screwdrivers can do it too

this video is pretty useful (it is generic not vehicle specific)

google 'tiny pin connector removal' for other ideas

Ah I see what you are looking to do. I don't normally re-use terminals, I would just crimp the wires into a new terminal in your case. If you don't have a new terminal to use though you may be able to carefully open the old terminal up and then re-crimp it.
