So you said it has mud tires, do you need/want Mud tires? If not you could probably find a all terrain tire in p-metric size and could be lighter and make a pretty big difference in performance of the truck. There is some figure like adding 3 lbs of unsprung weight(tires rims etc.) Is like adding 100 lbs of weight to the truck( theses numbers are made up and some one will probably post the correct ones but they are just for example)

Here's my baby. This is before I put a soft topper on it, the CB, and the muffler but it's basically the same.

Great point here. I'm rocking the BFG KO2's in LT rating (I wheel a lot so LT is a plus) but a P rating will save you some gas.

I will probably never take my taco off road really but would like to add all terrain tires for snow and don't want to kill mpg so I am looking at the wildpeak falken in p245/70 only weigh like 38lbs

Nice truck. Yeah for that price you might as well get the muffler. I do agree that Flowmasters are a bit ricey sounding on these trucks though. I would look up some videos and see which muffler you like. As far as Flowmaster goes on Tacomas I'm partial to the Super 44 because it's got a deeper growl than the 40 but still a little louder than the 50 series. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Santa Cruzin amongst all the knowledgeable answers you have gotten sir, I will add that I recently ( yesterday) slapped the MBRP kitty back on along with the AF dynamic CAI. And at first I was skeptic of what I might be getting myself into......but turns out this cheap mod helped with the shifting of gears/throttle response in my 2016 taco. much smoother shifting now, noticeable pickup power ban , great sound (only loud when your foot is falling through the floor, respectful gain in MPG by 1:2 miles.
I thought I would try this to fix the horrid shifting awkwardness rather that going with the orange virus download solution which is a 1k so they say fix. hope this helps...

also if you are running taller tires on this itty bitty badass pickup truck re-gearing is something you might wanna think about. easy to do , just send the one/ones you have in to the east coast gear guys and they will send the right gear for you. I heard a 4.88 works pretty good for a tire swap of 33s and up...

Well the transmission shifting issues you were talking about are inherently on 3rd gen 6spd autos, his will be a 5spd auto(if auto) is why I said its a 2nd gen, so yea its a Tacoma not a ford focus but it does make a difference.

Sadly they inherited this Toyota trickery, but I still enjoy it.
Yes I was aware of the his 2nd gen thank you sir, I just felt I would lay my 2cents on the counter for him.
