Normally I approach the toll plaza at the maximum posted speed per the signs at said plaza (the Golden Gate Bridge is 25 MPH, for example..), I roll through and get my license plate photographed for purposes of sending me a bill a week or three later.

Sometimes I wonder, if I do 28 MPH - what happens? Will I get a ticket? Will the cameras not be able to pick up my license plate clearly, and I'll eventually not be charged for this toll crossing?

Has anybody done this and can confirm? If so, please share your story. If not, I'd love to hear about other tolls, and how you handle them.

    TIA.

Roll with a disabled vet license plate. Toll fees waived (except on the George Bush Freeway - leave it to that asshole to get his money).

Has anybody ever gone through a toll plaza with a third gen? Is it the same process as my 2011?

I like this. I assume this is a nation wide thing with those class of license plates?

I sometimes like to pay for the car after me. Like in NYC, the bridges there that have lot of tolls.

I used to keep an older toll ticket and pay the lesser fee and just rotate them all the time.
Must have saved a few pennies doing that for years.

    That's disappointing.

I'm going to look into this, actually. Of all things that seem to make a lot of sense, a national allowance for disabled vets to cross freely without toll fees seems to make a lot of sense.

Some of the tolls I go thru have the automatic change baskets. Chunk the change in the basket, machine counts your coins and voila! The arm raises up.

Ever notice it says "no pennies"

Well guess what, IT TAKES PENNIES!

I got rid of about 10 lbs of pennies on a few commutes to a temp job in houston.

Just ignore the tolls and they will go away.

I can't imagine the level of hell that would be a toll booth like that in my area.
