Hhmmmm...I didn’t think about the driver. Man it’s just my luck too . My ballast just went out and had to get a replacement . Now this. Although I’m not too keen on all of this so I’m going to try to figure out if those little boxes are the driver. I thought they were for the for the switch back halos.

I don’t have RGB demon eyes just amber / Orange. So I’m not sure if it needs a driver. Anyways thanks for responding and I’ll have to snap some pics to see what’s what. I mean I was able to troubleshoot the ballast part so I’m hoping it’s not all that hard with this demon eye stuff.

Maybe you can help me sort this out, I haven't pulled out a multimeter to check my truck because it's been too cold, but...
I built a set of retrofits for my 2015 with demon eyes and switchback rings. I'd like the demon eyes to come on only with DTRL and the rings to come on only with parking/headlights. The DTRL/parking/turn lamp only has three wires, which are on/flash/ground, I assume. Is the setup I want even possible?

You would need a volt meter for the halos just to make sure you tap the correct wire. I wouldn't recommend running demon eyes as DTRL, you'll probably burn them out running at such extended time

To be clear, the DTRL in my truck is switched on the stalk, not automatic, so I was hoping to be able to select the DTRL when I want the demon eyes on. I wasn't thinking of running them full-time, in fact, I was hoping to avoid it. Maybe I'll just add a hidden switch in the cabin and not worry about it at all.

If that's the case then it shouldn't be a problem just make sure that wire does t have power when your running your lights at night

Well, looking at my wiring definitely no driver for the amber led light. What i did notice though is they did an add a fuse tap for the halo switchbacks so it runs when the ignition is on even if the parking lights or headlights are off. there is the switchback wiring tapped to the signal lights and I'm trying to figure out what's tapped to the parking lights.

I believe this is the why the halos run when the car is on even though my parking lights or headlights aren't on.

This is the switch back box and seems like it's wired and tapped to the signals

This is the one I'm trying to figure out. Something is tapped to the parking lights.

How fast would my halo's burn out if they're wired like that? NOTE: for the most part, i drive with my parking lights on. It's a habit i have for some reason.

Diode halos usually hold up if anything goes out it's the driver. That's how we wore our halos too to the fuse box EFI2 fuse

just want to say thanks for answering my questions. what i'm trying to figure out is how RA wired the demon eye. how do you guys wire up demon eyes that are non RGB just one color to customers? at this point, I think I just want to disable the demon eye on the passenger side headlight..lol.

So reason we don't do single color anymore is due to wiring troubles our clients had which isn't bad just a tedious job. You have to wire them on a switch in the cab

Red: High Power Amber, 100% brightness
    Black: Ground
White: False Positive - need to connect to low beam wire. This will automatically shut off the demon eye when the low beams are turned on.

I'll have to trace those colored wires. But what I'm afraid of is if the wiring internally or the LED is out then I'm basically SOL unless i open up the headlights which i wouldn't want to do. Man if that's the case, my next retro's will be no DEMON EYES but at least i know who I'll be going to ;) .

All these beautiful high tech lights i cant afford or do myself. Id just like to find a set of BHLM with led DTRL and tinted side marker. Hard part is I want to keep my headlights as backup...someone will have a set eventually.

Hey @kustom54lighting, I bought some retrofitted headlights for my truck and painted them, physically installed the halos, etc. However, I'm afraid I bit off more than I can chew when it comes to wiring them in.

I can get the headlights to work fine (need to replace a bulb that is out) but I have absolutely no clue how to wire the halos in to work. Can I show you some pictures and ask some questions? I've Google'd and searched high and low for pictures to show the wiring and what to tap/etc but have yet to find anything that speaks my admittedly limited language. I have just borrowed a voltmeter from a co-worker as I assume that's a missing link in my quest. Do you mind me asking some questions on your thread or would you prefer a PM? Or feel free to tell me to piss off if you're busy haha.
