Son going to shop in about an hour, told him call me before spending any more money. The LC2i seems like a good choice if the shop does not work out.

Ummm, see those gain adjustments? I bet your amp has an internal line output converter (LOC) for taking high-level outputs of a deck, and dropping the signal down before amplification. I cannot find a manual for your amp that is worth anything. That's a showstopper for me. Hopefully you got something that shows you how to set the amp up properly.

Try to adjust the gains and see if the results are better.

but in the same respect, there's really not much to any line level converters to begin with. i would argue very few could ever tell the difference between a $15 converter, and a $300 converter in a blind test with both setup properly.

You did this in a ‘23 ORP or a different vehicle?

You are still using the factory speakers but added an amplifier and a chuchero as well?

Follow up to the above questions:

    1. The JP234 does not have high level (speaker level, Line Level) inputs, must have a LOC to work on this amp. Some amps have high level only, some low level only and some have both. We worked on the gain controls on the JP234 amp. They work, however could not get good quality sound out with the first LOC installed.

    2. Truck is 2023 OR (not Pro) and Son installed 4 mid level speakers and 4 tweeters in a box mounted in the rear seat headrest (see pic). Please no negative comments- kid is a teenager, this install is to be expected. Passengers can ride in the bed, and with no kids, why would you need the rear seats? Factory speakers are still installed and work. When amp is turned off, factory stereo works exactly like original. The amp is run off the LOC tapped to the front speakers and the we used a y split phono plug to run the two channels from LOC to the four channel JP234. We used 2 channels for tweeter and two channels for the mid range speakers. Son has a woofer amp and woofer to be installed next. Woofer in box laying on rear seats, remember, no kids, at least none I know of...To run amp, fade to the front speakers which then drives the amped rear speaker box with the OEM speakers still running off the OEM stereo Head unit.

    3. Son took truck to stereo shop and had them look at it yesterday. First they thought the Exxiss LOC was defective and they replaced. Still not good so they put in the next step up LOC from Exxiss and that worked. The next step up LOC was $20 more and they charged son $20 and did not charge for the 1 hour labor that included setting the adjustments on the amp. Son very satisfied with outcome. All sounds good now and amp is putting out sound like it should

    4. See pic in previous post.

Forgot to add. Who needs to see out the rear window? Kid is young and should always be looking to where he is going, not where he has been, and the cops can use their siren...

    Just a little advise here
Start with a decent loc possibly with a bass knob
Then get a box that goes behind the seat and mount one or two of the woofers in it
Buy a mono amp for bass
Buy a set of separates for the front ( or coax for the doors and mids for the dash)
Buy a set of coax for rear doors
Then you will have a good system
