I have a 2009 Access cab PreRunner with 16 inch wheels topped with a Leer fiberglass commercial top. My trailer is a Jayco 17 foot Swift with 15 inch tires. Dry weight 2480, tongue weight 295 #. I have used two different WD hitches to try to level the combination but each time the trailer sits 1 to 2 inches high.

I know I need the WD hitch but I can't get the trailer front level. I have adjusted both balls down and to full tilt but just can't get level. One hitch has a longer shank than the other so that lowered the trailer to the 1 inch high point. A longer shank will have it grinding on the road as I travel.

The RV dealer was not much help. They said the 2 inch high would be O.K. but I don't think so. The manual calls for level travel to use the fridge as I travel.

Or am I over thinking this?

If I understand correctly what you mean by 1" high, I think you are okay. That's close enough to level for the appliances to work. Keep in mind that no roads are flat, so even if you are hitched completely level on a flat surface, as soon as you hit the road and start going up and down hills the trailer will never be level again until you reach your destination.

    You're over-thinking it! ;)

When you are stationary (at a camp site), the refrigerator should be level so that the fluid in the coils can circulate properly.
When the trailer is in motion, the act of driving does plenty good enough job of keeping the fluid from collecting at any one spot in the coils.
