When I ordered my boost guage I just assumed that it would be a power wire, a ground wire and a hose to run to the supercharger. I got this thing in the mail and it's got like 7 wires. Is there a thread on how to install this thing or has anyone done it before that can guide me through it? The directions that come in the box are not very clear.

    You received only a gauge.

Do you have a MAP sensor? Normaly you should have a MAP sensor installed on the firewall in the engine bay. The MAP is conected to the boost port with a tube. Then you have a wire(s) from the MAP sensor to the gauge. From the gauge you normaly have to connect 2 or 3 wires (12V power, ground, sometimes a third one activated by Hi/LOW beam).

The 2 black connectors are probably a IN and a OUT. They can be connected to a computer to program/set the gauge (need the cable and software for that) or to connect to an other device to create a data logging chain. Like said, it's maybe that but you should check with the supplier.

Do I HAVE to hook up to the MAP? Or will it still work if I just took it up to power and ground and then run the hose to my supercharger?

Is this more accurate than a mechanical guage?

Which would just make it a bigger guage or what?

Also, did you install your own gauge and could possibly take any pictures of where you have your wiring connected? I'm pretty mechanically inclined and there's a good chance I could do it myself with a little guidance

That's what I thought I was going to have to do anyway haha seems easier than running all these wires

Just got off the phone with one of the customer service reps over at speedhut. He informed me that if I was so inclined I could just twist all the positive wires together and all the negative wires together, find a good source of ground and put all the power wires to a switched power source and it would work perfect. He said all the additional wires are in case you want the ability to dim the lights or have to gauge hooked up to your headlight switch but I'm not interested in that. So this actually will be a pretty simple install.

They are separate. I did not have them connected for that picture

It was a few years ago, but i combined the harnesses together like so:
    Engineinstall034_47a04d0e3ab9c3bac9e634eb447116eaba1f0a8b.jpg
They all plugged into the sensors.

Then, i tied the power and grounds and illumination together, and connected it behind the dash. Sorry no pics of that,

You can kind of seem them on the left side here, sorry, terrible camera.

Installed my boost gauge last night. Twisted all the ground wires together and hook them to a body ground, then twisted all of the power wires together and hook them up to the ignition fuse. Ran my hose over to the boost port on my supercharger and wala! it was good to go. Only pushing 6 pounds of boost is kind of a bummer but that's why I'll be picking up my new pully soon.

Installed my boost gauge and also finally got the bung welded in for my wideband. It's looking like I'm running about 6 pounds of boost and my AFR is 14.6 at idle and 10.1 at WOT. Do these numbers sound normal/good

    They sound right.

With a tune, you will want to be 11.5-12:1 at WOT for the most HP. You are running rich (which is normal, stock).

So if I were to buy an intake and drop S/C pulley size that would help me out?
