Again, thanks to the OP for this thread! A whole year later, I finally got around to doing this today. The Yakima fork mounts have been on a shelf in my garage since last summer.

I mounted mine a bit differently. I filled the “gap” between the aluminum bar and the plastic with a couple of washers to avoid any compressing of the plastic when tightening down the screws. After install, I tested it with two bikes. While it was relatively solid, there was a bit of flex to the tonneau as the bikes wobbled side to side. So, I decided to add a piece of 1” steel angle underneath for some rigidity. It is now absolutely rock solid.

Since I won’t carry bikes too often, I’ve decided against mounting D-rings for strapping down the back tires....for now anyway. I think the plan is to run a ratchet strap around the tonneau and looped around the bottom of the bike tires. Seems to hold them well enough. May try to find some less obnoxious straps for this purpose, but I had these bright orange ones on hand to test with.

    Thanks again!

The first pic was before I did the heavy duty velcro for the rear tire and just used a strap.

I had my buddy who works at a metal shop cut me 2 pieces of metal & stamp out the holes to make it more sturdy like someone else did in this thread. I have a piece on top and bottom of the cover. The key is to make sure you can fold up your cover without hitting the mount before you commit to drilling the cover.

Ended up shifting the mounts out 5” this week to make room for the kayaks. 8ECE0FEE-189B-4F4A-9549-1B9314853904.jpg

Need an opinion. Thinking about buying this Rocky Driveshaft and mounting it laying down on top of OEM Tonneau cover. I would think it would fit under folded Tonneau cover and as a huge bonus it locks.

It could work but you would need to add a spacer since the hinge hangs lower than the mount body. Another issue I ran into is that my front caliper hangs lower than the axle. This caused the bleed nipple to hit the top of the cover. To fix this I made some removable spacers.

The fork mount should say what axles are compatible. The rockymounts one has 3 adapters in the box.
