On a serious note it's sorta dependent on where you meet said girl. Like waiting at a bar for drinks you can joke about how long its taking. Grocery store ask the girl how something is cooked. Random place compliment something she is wearing and ask about it. If she has a shirt thats your favorite team talk about that. In one of those huge bar/clubs its about who looks like they are having the most fun. Last Oct I was in vegas with a few buddies and one night we had everyone around us wanting to join our little group because we looked like and were just having fun. There is no set in stone way to go about it plus every girl is different. Just be confident and easy going and look at it as if she doesn't respond you didn't loose anything you are in the same spot you were 5 mins ago and move on. If you can get past the fact you will get rejected every here and again then its a lot easier talking to people.

Once upon a time I went into a coffee shop and said "since your donut selection sucks, can I just get your number instead?" It worked.
Maybe you could try that lol

There's really no "right" way to begin a conversation with someone. If you are going around to all the ladies in the place (if you're in a bar) they'll all notice. Pick one out, see how she acts, if she makes eye contact with you (don't stare), and act confident, but definitely not cocky. When you start chatting, don't talk about yourself, talk about her, ask about the friends she's with etc.

If the first thing she says is, "I have a BF", that would mostly likely not be true and she is not interested, and you'll see a few other guys go in and get her number. Take that into consideration, is that really the girl you wanna go out on a date with?

Don't use pick up lines, or drinks or anything else like that, just be a normal dude. If the first thing you say when you walk up to a girl is "Hey, lemme buy you drink", she'll think you just wanna get her drunk, or she'll take the free drink and move on. Trust me dude, I worked in a bar long enough to observe and see how women are and how men are and how men fail, buying drinks to start off a conversation is a sure failure.

This is good, I like this.

I went into a bath and body works at the mall once, there was a cutie there and she was trying to sell me a night gown for a chic, I was like are you gonna model it for me later tonight? She's all uhhhmmmm I'd have to ask my BF. I said uh huh, sure....and walked out.

Failure but still was a good time.

Doesn't anyone else think the "would you like to see my dick" shit is a little over the top and douchey to be the first thing you ever say to a girl?

The dude's looking to date a woman, not get slapped in the face or rejected.

Things like that are the way to go. You just got too say the first thing that comes too mind. That way you are being yourself.

But really, like others have said, there's no right way so to speak...something that works for me ain't necessarily gonna work for you

I generally will make an ass out of myself and say something completely dumb...without alcohol...it doesn't always work but when it does...it works WELL

    My best advice is to:

    No cheesy pick up lines.

    Be confident but not arrogant

    Be aggressive but not actively

    Be calm but not relaxed

Be funny but don't make her laugh

Be so subtle that its obvious

    Be intimidating but not off-putting

Find something in common but let her feel that she knows more about it that you do

Help her in some way and be sincere about it.

it was a reference to a comedian, and it wasnt serious, hence my 'serious' post after that.
