Winter's coming and I'm dreading the day when the cats decide to jump up onto my hood to stay warm for a few hours into the evening. I just got my Barcelona Red DC and while it's a 2005, the paint is pretty much flawless...I just hope I don't completely lose my sh#t on the day I come out to see freakin' cat scratches on my hood...

Anybody have any cool tips on how to keep the cats from jumping onto the truck? And no, I don't have a garage!

Leave a bowl of antifreeze beside the food?

    Just kidding, of course.

Are they your cats, or are they strays?

Mostly stock for now, I have added a cb radio, various cheap mods and I plan on adding aftermarket wheels and other items in the future.
That's not right for the cat.
Nothing you can really do, or park in a garage if you have one. I think they sell a spray that will keep them away but I imagine it wont work good in the snow or rain.

I actually have cats get on my truck all the time, but I don't see any claw parks anywhere. I think it depends on how your hood slopes down or car body shape. When I had my 1999 Firebird, they sure did know how to scratch the hell out of that when I had it.

traps on the hood when the cats step on them it scares the shit out of them or catches there paw causing the to think twice about jumping on the truck.

Buy some tiger urine at a feed store(might have to order it) and set it out in a bowl, or pour it around the truck. That stuff scares the shit out of most any animal. You could also wait till the damn thing jumps up on your truck, then use the key fob to honk the horn--A few times of that and they stay off of it.:D

Damn lol, I wonder how they collect the Tiger urine. They must loose a few brave souls everyday collecting it.

LOL. I don't know if it's actually real or just the name. Cats kinda do have a built in instinct to recognize that a tiger or a lion is kingshit of their bloodline though. I downloaded some recorded sounds of a tiger and a mountain lion once and was playing them on my laptop at my mom's house. Her cats were spooked for weeks! Now whenever I show up with my laptop, they disappear for awhile.:)

That's not a bad idea with the tiger and lion sounds running on a speaker. I wonder if you could set up sensor around your truck at night so when it's triggered it will sound off and scare the cats away. :D

Bad idea, seriously...the cat freaks out and really scratches up your hood as it tries to run away. Also, a mousetrap on the cat's paw all night would suck. I have three cats, one is domestic, the other two are semi-feral, and I'd never be able to catch them if they had mousetraps on their feet.

The tiger urine is a good idea...I know the wolf urine works good for keeping deer away from your garden ("Not Tonight, Deer" and such).

I may have to put a cover on the truck when I come home at night...
