One of those AC kennels used by hunters would work. Secure and cool.

Reminds me of a news story here about this guy that left his dog tied to a tree by the clubhouse while he went to play a round of golf. When he came back the dog was gone. (Gruesome) Ended up that the migrant greens workers killed the dog and ate him for lunch. (True Story)

Maybe you sit inside the truck with a water bottle for four hours in the sun and let the dogs play golf. WTF

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
This one's probably best off being deleted, OP.

Responsible pet ownership comes with... well, responsibility. To hell with your golf game, or if it's worth that much to you, find another option for your dog.

There's definitely a handicap here that might want to be addressed, I'll let you figure out which one.

You can use Rover.com to find a dog sitter. It can be used in different cities all across the U.S.

And just like that, OP was never to be seen again. I own a dog also and he is truly part of my family. I can't wrap my head around thinking it would be ok to leave him unattended for hours in the back of a truck in the summer, even with provisions. Even asking "can I bring him golfing" is unreasonable depending on how hot it is. Heatstroke is a real thing for our furry friends.

Since we got our message across, we should instead just share pictures of our dogs in here.

Tony was a bit wet from the morning sprinklers in this one.

This thread went exactly the direction I predicted! If we set the laws aside, without reliable AC and bombproof theft prevention (Tesla won’t cut it) it’s just not something responsible. You may be able to get away with it in an RV with the AC running, but even that would be taking a risk.

Thanks for the link. But we all need to learn to think/read critically and not just latch on to the most deplorable click-baity headline.

Per the article: 1) the 'victim' abandoned his dog in a place where some maintenance workers presumably needed to work (near a maintenance shed), 2) Eye witnesses 'identified' workers and dog getting loaded into van. 3)The worker were accused of removing and later at some point eating said dog.
So not exactly a solid conviction. And a lot of oddness. Like what, did the cops immediately respond to a 'dognapping' call, interview eye witnesses on the scene and rush over to catch the crime in progress? Like, was there a film crew too?

Not saying it couldn't have happened, but since neither of us was there, we should not rush to conclusion.
I am also suggesting it is a wild accusation with some ugly undertones- (privileged golfer vs underclass worker, etc) that will generate a lot of views->ad revenue based solely on the salacious headline.
And the only thing that has been proven is that leaving your dog tied up 'wherever' is dead wrong.

Don't be dumb about it. Park in the shade. Windows open. Water for the pup. None of this goes for when it is smoke'n hot out.

You called me a liar in your first response. Then you act like a duche when I actually prove that it happened??

I’m wondering how it went from “loaded the dog in the car and left” to “butchering and eating the dog”. Thats a far leap.

We both clicked it. Just sayin...

And no need to get your panties in a bunch. I called no one a liar.
What you proved is that there was indeed an article that was written with 'dog eating' in the headline.
I was calling BS on the content of the article. So unless you lived the story, I am not calling you anything.

However you did somewhat overstated the facts, as presented in the body of the article, perhaps because of the intentionally misleading and salacious headline (a.k.a. clickbait). I wanted to add a different take on my (actual) reading of the article.
The facts presented do not include a confession or a conviction.
So innocent until proven guilty and all that, right? 'Murica still?

    I wasn't citing the article!
It was all over our local news! I know the guys at that golf course.
You believe what you want. I never over stated anything! They ate the guys dog! FACT!!
Live in your fairytale world where that shit couldn't happen if you want? Like I said I could give a crap!
Don't be "Calling BS" If you don't know shit!
