    Hello everyone,

So any body carry their BG meter in outings? And how do you keep it cool inside a hot parked truck?

    Thanks.

Google is hard. Asking is easy.
Seriously, monitor and meter are not the same so I did not assume as many of you do.

Yeah I'm assuming he means bg monitor. In this case, how would monitor and meter be different in function?

2.5 seconds of Googling can seem like a lifetime. But an old rule of thumb is that you don't use an acronym, e.g. "BG", in a communication, oral or written, until you've first defined what the acronym stands for.

Perhaps a small ice chest with blue ice would work to keep it cool if you so desire.

EMS vehicles carry BG(blood glucose) meters in kits left stored in hot compartments for extended periods of time over many weeks, months and years without detrimental effects to the testing equipment or its ability to function properly.

OP, regardless of what you want to keep cool, the best method is a cooler. Freeze a few water bottles and put in cooler next day. Take them out at night, re freeze and repeat. This is the bestest method for keeping anything cool.
If you are off grid for a week, then a refrigerator is needed along with power supply. These are the only solutions.

I figured I use the acronym. To call the attention of the actual users. And yes it is blood glucose monitor. They’re sensitive to temperature changes. And I have googled the hell out of it. But haven’t been able to find a satisfactory result. Pre-cooling a container won’t work. Not in California summers.

Bubble gut meter. Measures the bubbles built up in your gut before your ass explodes.

I don't have a BG, but have kept electronic devices in hot vehicles in the past with no issues. There are all sorts of electronics built into the dash and it doesn't bother them.

If I go to the beach for example. Taking it with me is not an option. And keeping it in the car…. Well. You know. Same thing if I go camping. Or anywhere else where there is no climate control.

I mean I hear what you're saying, but seems either would give you a measurement of your current blood glucose level

You cant be the first person to find this issue, I'd find it hard to believe there isn't a robust BG meter out there that can handle a hot car or at least a good solution. Good luck finding it though.
