    Nope, not before asking here anyway.. see below.

    I’ve never had a 4x4, 0 experience to draw on. Can’t possibly know what it feels like to have 4WD engaged with solid traction without having done it first—and I know it’s generally a bad idea so I wanted to ask. I went ahead and gave it shot, engaging 4LO (without using the mod’s inhibit function), cranking the wheel, and very gently easing into it. Very obvious binding. Not at all present when using the 2LO mod to inhibit 4WD. Now I know it works. Thanks y’all.

    How about jack the front up and spin a front tire? If one can be spun alone the ADD is disengaged and you're in 2LO. If spinning one rotates the other backwards the ADD is engaged and you're in 4LO.
