I bought a used 2006 prerunner v6 4.0L 6 lug and want to swap out the suspension because it’s all squeaky. Now the tires it has are 265/70/17 and I think factory it’s 265/75/16 (correct me if I’m wrong). I just want to know if there’s any way I can tell if it still has its stock lift or if any lift kits were done/added to it. Not very familiar with suspension work so if I’m missing information that’ll help please let me know :) Thanks in advance!

X2. Pictures of how it sits, of where the rear leaf springs attach to the axle etc... Of course the rims too if you dont know if they are factory, you can look over the inner backside for factoty cast in markung clues.
If im not mistaken the only 17" were 5 bolt xrunner and TRD(?) rims.

Wheel tire size should be in door jamb sticker

Define 'all squeaky'. That may not be a replacement reason, but service work.

Pictures as others have asked will help

Bilstein 5100s all the way around. Looks like the fronts have factory springs on the zero setting(no lift) no lift in the rear.

I'll guess at least part of the squeak is the leaf springs. Maybe a lot of it. Leaf springs have squeaked since their invention.

Lots of threads around on various fixes.

I suggest jacking at the frame so the leaves 'open up' blast with water, blow with shop air then spray between them with a lubricant. Both sides.

30 minutes of effort will at least give a clue if this is one of your main squeak points

It might be the angle or my eyes and has nothing to do with squeak but those tires don’t look right - like low profile?

Take a few steps back and take a pic of the whole side of the truck. It looks stock from the magnified pics...lol

    Movement + Friction = 'SQUEEK'
Attack just ONE penitential area at a time.
(if you go after all suspension joints in one fell-swoop and eliminate the squeaking you'll always wonder where it was coming from in the first place)
