Several years ago we rented a car last minute on the day before xmas at the Kansas City airport, of the few options they had available there was a 2012 Dodge Challenger with a manual transmission and v8. Of course I picked it lol. I remember pushing the clutch for the first time and thinking it was stuck though, the damn thing was so much heavier than my Tacoma's clutch. Felt like pushing a cinder block with your foot in comparison.

When I got back home into my truck I nearly put the clutch through the floor when I started it up

so whenever the clutch on your truck was replaced or you switched cars how long did it take to adjust?

I still think the clutch feels lighter when it's new, I don't think it was a placebo thing like others suggest. If that were the case, then each time we get a new clutch, the new ones get lighter each time and we just get used to it every time? It will firm up eventually in my opinion, unless you got some kind of performance kit installed that was meant to feel lighter.

It's been awhile for me but last time I remember it took me a week or so to feel it firm up again. Whether or not it's all in the head or not I guess doesn't really matter so long as in the end it feels normal to you. If in a few weeks it still feels just as light then I'd look into doing something about it that might stiffen it up.

Personally I like a lighter clutch feel, the heavy ones get tiresome in traffic and on the trails. It's the "mushy" clutch feel that I can't stand though, like when it doesn't bite or grab very hard

ok, the return spring part is supposed to be in on Tuesday. driving down to Portland OR on the 21st to see family for the holidays so i'll probably hold off until i'm down there. i think that i'll just throw the spring in the glove box and then i can install it at my discretion. We'll see how it does over the next week or two.
