Hey guys, so I recently purchased a brand new 2011 tacoma prerunner dclb trd sport, and i wish i can make it look a little bit BIGGER...

I don't want to do anything super expensive but do you guys have any suggestions?? I would prefer something that will not affect my car performance in any way....

I was thinking a bit of a raise and adding thicker tires... Do you guys know if i can add thicker tires without raising it at all??

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

    Thanks!

First, you have a truck, not a car... and if you do not want it to affect performance in ANY way, you're outta luck. Anything you do to alter the stock suspension or tire size will have some affect on performance. Some more so than others. You have a sport so you could put on 265/70R17 tires that are a little taller without any sort of lift. Lots of different possibilities as far as lift kits, have a look under the suspension section.

265/75/16 are the largest tire you can put on a stock 4x4. not sure if you can go bigger with an 11'. I would stick with a bigger tire at first.

new shocks could get you up a few more inches and let you run larger tires. dont do a body lift its just cheating.

a good rule of thumb is to do a suspension lift (few inches w/ new shocks) then get tires that fit the size and look of the lift.

plenty of pics and tire sizes on here. just take some searching. look for stickies at the top

wider tires look better but means less MPG and your going to lose a little bit of performance cause it takes more to move more rubber on the ground. but if you dont care wider tires look better for sure

try a leveling kit and bump the tire size up a little bit. if your just going for looks and don't want to lose performance you might want to try to get taller tires that are close to the same width as the stock tires.

Thank you very much for your inputs! But i think the 2011 tacoma TRD sport package already comes with the 265/70R17. So i'll def start looking around the forums.. and for those that just want to boost your egos by getting a TRUCK and refuse to call it a CAR and bash on people who call it a CAR, you guys need to chill out... This is my first TRUCK and by car i mean automobile, the category that TRUCKS fall into.

TRD Sport comes with 265/65R17, not 265/70R17... Don't believe me, check your door sill and it'll tell you what came on the truck from the factory.
