So whats always gone through my head is how does one make their truck ride softer and less firm on crappy roads or dirt trails? Do you swap out the springs, front shock, rear shock, leaf springs or everything? It would be appreciated if you folks could point me in the right direction.

I’m surprised the onslaught hasn’t started. Be prepared.

I feel like that makes the ride too mushy but good suggestion.

Theres not a whole lot you can do to stock other than replace it or keep you tires at a low PSI to keep from bouncing over bumps and rocks. Bilstein 5100s are a great cheaper solution, and 15psi on trails will definitely help out.

Pretty much enjoy it as is or get something like Mid-Long Travel ha.

Bilstein 6112 front shocks are Digressive valving instead of progressive so they're pretty soft when you hit harsh terrain quickly. Suck when a deer pops out though.

Some people spring for Kings, etc. but that's a lot of dough on a DD I'm assuming you're in debt for...

Do you have time to return the vehicle? ha

The stock OR suspension is pretty soft....what are you expecting a truck to ride like, a Cadillac? If so, that probably isn't going to happen.

You said too mushy but almost everyone doing serious wheeling has their tires aired down. If you want some super flexy suspension it will depend if you want it at low speed or high speed. Crawlers/rock warrior4s will be flexy in the low. The pre-runner/desert trucks will be stiff at low speeds but get softer as they are hitting the whoops. I have always tried to keep it somewhat flexy and decent in mid speeds since I am not running an LT truck.

Its not too bad for nose dive (for an old truck, it’s not a sports car).

it’s more the side to side motion. Quick diversion pucker factor and old Jeep death wobble are not entirely imposible.

You must be real sensitive if you think the stock OR suspension is firm. A lot of people replace the OR suspension because they feel it is too mushy/soft. Maybe trucks just aren't for you.

And as others have mentioned, if you don't air down offroad you're doing it wrong.

Talk to headstrong or accutune and see if they can help you find your cushy suspension. Good luck.
