So I’m going to be selling tires that are fairly new only about a year old at most for 2 and the other 3 are 5months old tread is great especially on the 3 newest ones but how does everyone calculate how much to seek their old tires for? My tires are 265/70r17 general grabbers AT2 x5 tires. These are the only pics I have at the moment but the newest tires are in similar shape as the front and the back are the most worn 2 tires. Let me know what’s a good price to let all 5 go. Thanks for the help!

    Heres my super secret formula:

Price new x (current tread depth - 6/32)/(new tread depth-6/32).

The way I would do it, is look at the gauranteed mileage of the tires. Then figure out the miles you’ve driven on it. Take that percentage of the driven miles and subtract the same percentage off of the price of the tires new.

-Eg. Tire A is $100 each and has a guaranteed life of 50,000 miles. To a total of $500.
-You’ve driven 5,000 miles on them. Which is 10% of their life.
    -Take 10% off of $500 = $450.

But I don’t sell used tires and who knows if that’s what people go by. I’m just going off of what I would do assuming the tires are in good condition.

My math probably undervalues the tires a bit, it basically assumes you replace at 6/32 which may be a little conservative. Tire rack recommends 4/32 for wet weather, and 5/32 for snow, but I have seen others recommend replacing at 6/32 for snow.
