So cut the flares first then mark the cut for the fender?

I'm not sure how you plan on cutting the bedside but what I did was have the flares mounted to the truck like normal. Take some masking tape and tape roughly where the final cut should be. I would cut about .5" below that line. That way I can temporarily mount the bumper. Then take two pieces of 2x4 and mount the bumper with the 2x4's under each of the mounting points. That would make the bumper sit 1.5" lower than it should. After that take a 2x4 and place it on top of the bumper and mark your new line. That way you know where the bumper will sit after you remove the 2x4's. Cut the bedsides and flares at the same time and then alter your flares. My flares were already altered so I just kept them mounted and cut off the bottom portion of the flare.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

Couldn't the X-Runner fenderflares work on your trucks? They are slimmer.

    Thats a great idea!

Only thing is the xrunner flares don't use the fender clips for retainment. Only the bolts in the wheel well hold the flare on. Might not be a big issue. I'm sure you could adapt them to work. Anyone ever look into this in detail?

The X Runner flares are slimmer but the opening isn't any bigger. You wouldn't gain any clearance for bigger tires (the point of modifying the flares).

I think the idea would be use this flares if possible since they are thinner (removing the need to trim your existing flares). Obviously you would still need to trim the metal fenders to get the added room.

You won't get any added room with these flares. The wheel opening is no bigger than the regular flares. I understand that the flare is thinner but the wheel opening hasn't changed. The X Runner flare has been cut from the top down which doesn't change the wheel opening. The way I cut the flares (and the op's flares) is from the bottom up, which expands the wheel opening.

    I remember that too...
Anton knows whats hes doing and there is a large demand so, I think a lot of people would be willing to pay that price for a set of these flares. :D

That's correct. I wont be able to start on the flares until I get back from my vacation on the first week of May. I'll have a rear set finished when I get back but the OP already had dibs on them.

Since I will most likely sell the flares and I can't tell you what I use to bond the flares together or what process I use. I don't use fiberglass though. So with that, I won't have a write up on the flares. But, I will include instructions on how to cut and install the flares. Unless something changes I will start to make flares once I get back. So that would be after the first week in May. Once I get back I will post a thread for the flares.
