How to mount EDC tools inside of console?

    I want to mount my flashlight and maybe my knife too on the inside of my center console lid. I tried using a magnet from home depot and double sided tape, but it wasn't strong enough. Does anyone have any ideas on a clean way to hold these on the inside of my center console?

    Possibly secure something to the underside of the lid that those items could slide and secure with their pressure clips to?

    Yeah maybe a pouch of some sort. I was hoping to go the minimalist route for quick access, like with a U-clip or something.

    Yeah what about those like pocket type pouch things...that could work
    I guess I was thinking something stiff like a plastic bar or aluminum bar spaced away from the under against the lid that you could slide the clip onto

    You can try one of these. There is one that fits inside the lid of a second gen. There may be a size to fit the first gen too. Use Velcro or double sided tape to attach it.

    Order up some kydex and start molding some holsters that will mount in the center console. Or attach a piece of thin stainless inside so that they have something to hook to. I noticed they both have clips. Best place ive found to keep the Benchmade is in my pocket ;)

    What kind of magnet and what kind of double sided sticky tape?

    I put a back up and front facing cameras on my truck and are held on by small neomydium magnets. They never move. Your knife and flashlight are a lot bigger but there are bigger magnets.

    For double sided tape not all are equal. 3M makes one called CV62F that once it's attached and cured it doesn't come off. I have a 100 foot roll for a camper I'm building to hold the skin on. It's crazy strong.

    I'm starting to realize how important it is to keep certain items and tools in my truck. I'm always taking all of my tools on the go. Will have to think of something but for now my tools go with me where ever I go.
