Yes, but avoid spraying electronics. Generally, you should be fine using a low pressure garden hose and a scrub brush, but just don't want to saturate electrical crap or knock any parts loose.

Id take pictures on how to wash an engine compartment but it's Sunday afternoon which means I don't have pants on and I'm NOT going through that legal hassle with my neighbor again.

Your link is dead, but I looked into it... either OP is a troll, or needs affirmation/direction on every decision/effort made in life. Oh well, not hurting anybody and has started some interesting threads.

You wash under your neighbors hood in your underwear. Dude we need pics of that as it is completely appropriate in answer to both of ops questions.

Hey, @TacoManTaco. Did you check your blinker fluid when you washed your engine bay? It's an essential thing to check before winter.

Also took a peek. Pure gold is a good description. I don’t think he’s trolling. Taking life head on and learning as he goes. Not everyone gets the common sense gene. I speak from experience. My 11 year old is about as book smart as a kid can get. Reading comprehension through the roof, quotes facts and details about every subject. However he daily does something that common sense rolls their eyes at. He’s like the dog with the long stick in their mouth that won’t fit through the door. Can’t figure out to turn the stick vertical unless I specifically direct him. He’ll remember from that point forward but everyday is a patient lesson.

    Shhhh.

@TacoManTaco look, it sounds like you need some elementary vehicle education. Sure, you can keep asking questions here but unfortunately, you will get good and bad advice and it sounds like you probably won't know the difference.

If I were you, I would call the dealer who sold you the truck and schedule a simple walk around with the service department. Let them (or sales) explain stuff to you. Ask questions. Have them actually show you how to open good, check oil, check wiper fluid, battery maintenance, 4WD actuation, etc.
Then, read. Read the owners manual. Read 4WD articles.
Then, try stuff yourself. Drive it, check stuff, open hood, crawl underneath it.

I'm just afraid of you keep asking some of these basic "vehicle" questions, never mind Tacoma specific questions, then you aren't going to learn much except frustration.

While the hood is up, spray a little dry lubricant on the latch mechanism/spring/etc. I have to do that with my 2014 otherwise it'll be a bit of a pain to open.
